Separate-Trip Example
A nonresident fishes Saturday and Sunday in June, then returns for another Saturday and Sunday in August. Treating all four dates as one consecutive block would be wrong. Two separate two-day purchases would begin with the first-day price twice.
Value rule: include repeat-trip probability, service fees and permits. Do not compare only the advertised base price.

How Idaho Fishing License Price Lock Works
Price Lock is not automatically available to every Idaho resident. The customer must have qualifying continuous purchase history or enroll through the approved three-year-license route.

Who Qualifies for an Idaho Resident Fishing License?
The published residency summary generally requires Idaho domicile during the six months immediately before buying a resident license. Owning property or paying Idaho property tax does not by itself establish resident-license eligibility.
Drivers
A driver should be ready to present a valid Idaho driver license and satisfy the six-month domicile requirement.

Eligibility can be based on qualifying current SSI or SSDI benefits, Railroad Retirement Board disability, a nonservice-connected veterans pension, a service-connected VA disability rating of at least 40%, or a qualifying permanent physical disability.

Electronic Validation or Mailed Permit
Idaho provides electronic salmon and steelhead permit validation through the Go Outdoors Idaho mobile app. When a physical or notchable permit is selected, published instructions say mailed items may take 7–10 business days.

Snake River Boundaries
