Private Pond Conditions
The private-water exemption applies to a privately owned pond, lake or reservoir to and from which fish cannot migrate.
A license is required when the private water is open to public fishing through an agreement or lease with the Ohio Division of Wildlife.
Landowner and Agricultural-Tenant Conditions
The ownership exemption does not apply where the land is in or borders a state park or state-owned lake. The agricultural-tenant route requires residence on the property and the majority of income to come from agricultural production there.
